Statement by the New Ontario Minister of Citizenship and Immigration

     TORONTO, July 26 /CNW/ - Ontario has been built by immigrants from around

the world along with our Aboriginal peoples to give us a society that is truly

the envy of the world.

     Our diversity does more than enrich our neighbourhoods and communities -

it strengthens our economy.

     Ontario is home to people who speak every language and have family and

friends in every part of the world, which is a real asset in an integrated and

globally competitive economy.

     In my efforts as Ontario's new Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, I

will continue to work hard to create a strong Ontario and ensure that all

Ontarians have every opportunity to succeed.
