TTC fares to increase March 6, 2005
TORONTO, Feb. 10 /CNW/ - At yesterday's meeting, the Toronto Transit
Commission approved a fare increase to take effect March 6, 2005. Metropasses
will be frozen at their current rates while adult tickets/tokens, purchased in
quantities of 5 or 10, will increase by 10 cents each. Cash fares will
increase by 25 cents. (See chart below for details.)
The Commission also approved the September introduction of a transferable
weekly pass.
As of March 6, the Day Pass will become a family pass on Saturdays as
well as the currently - offered Sundays.
On March 6, current tickets may be used until March 31, 2005 with the
addition of 10 cents for adult and an additional 5 cents for seniors/students.
Current tickets will not be valid after March 31, 2005.
