Congratulating Obama was right but getting a Just solution
is not easy
The Cyprus government of President D. Christofias was absolutely right to congratulate the elected US President Obama. I believe that the Greek Cypriots must not build high hopes , that Obama will bring a Just solution to Cyprus so easy. This reminds us of another US President Jimmy Carter that when he was elected the Church bells rung for the happy event, but later on,the US President Carter was not able not to fulfill its promises to get the Turkish Attila army of occupation out of Cyprus, which would of resulted to bring about a JUST Viable and Functional settlement for Cyprus.
One thing is for sure, that the newly elected US President will be far better than any other US republican president. The Greek Cypriots must count and work hard on their own to convince the big powers and UN to enforce the UN resolutions for Cyprus .The EU Cypriot Citizens must ask EU to pressure Turkey to get its Attila army of occupation out of Cyprus , in order to enable Turkey to continue its accession talks to join the EU. A lot of work and petition must be put on the EU and we the Greeks of Diaspora and the G/Cypriots must demand and ask the EU leadership to pressure Turkey to abide by the law of the EU protocol which it signed, hoping that Cyprus someday in the near future will get a Just Functional settlement based on the internationally accepted principle of majority rule.
