Karygiannis says Cabinet shuffle will not
achieve Harper's goals
1.
OTTAWA - The Honourable Jim Karygiannis, Member of Parliament for
Scarborough-Agincourt expressed his concern as he watched Harper shuffle
his Cabinet. Unlike Cabinet Ministers, Secretaries of State do not have a
permanent seat at the Cabinet table.
"This
is the third time that Harper has tried to put together a Cabinet. Again,
he has failed." said Jim Karygiannis. "This Cabinet still does
not represent the face of Canada. There is one less woman at the Cabinet
table and the only ethnic face at the table was demoted"
Harper
indicated that today's Cabinet shuffle would continue to ".
vigorously tackle crime; preserve and protect the environment.".
"This
round of musical chairs does nothing to tackle crime, help our cities or
improve our environment." Mr. Karygiannis stated. "There is no
one in this shuffle who will help our young people achieve their goals.
Under this government, our environment is getting more polluted, not
less."
